Ingredients
- Chickpeas (chole) – 1 cup (soaked overnight)
- Potatoes (boiled & cubed) – 2 medium
- Onion (finely chopped) – 1 large
- Tomato (pureed) – 3 medium
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Chole masala – 1 tbsp
- Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – To taste
- Fresh coriander – for garnish
- Water – as required
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
Soak chickpeas overnight and pressure cook them until soft.
Step 2
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
Step 3
Add ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell disappears.
Step 4
Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates from masala.
Step 5
Add all dry spices (turmeric, chilli, coriander, chole masala, salt). Mix well.
Step 6
Add boiled chickpeas and potatoes. Mix and cook for 10–15 minutes.
Step 7
Add garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot.
